Significant Change For Saturday for Blue Springs Weather

Good evening. Here are the current readings for this evening’s Blue Springs Weather and Jackson County, Missouri. The temperature sits at 29 degrees with a barometric pressure of 30.15 inches of pressure. Winds are out of the west at 11 mph—a relative humidity of 76%. We had a high of 37 degrees and a low of 29 today—a dew point of 25 degrees.

Blue Springs Weather has changed significantly for tomorrow and Saturday. Unless something changes over the next 24 hours, we could see some accumulations, but those accumulations will be less than an inch of snow. I would be surprised if it is half an inch of snow. The start time has shifted to about noon on Saturday.

The models are showing over 1 inch but I would not count on that much. We have a 40-50% chance of 1 inch or greater, according to the Weather Prediction Center.

The high will only be about 34 degrees by 1 pm Saturday. The winds will be pretty calm—less than 10 mph.

Significant Snow Weekend. Get Ready To Shovel Chiefs Kingdom?

Good evening. It has been a while since I brought you an update. With the Chiefs and Eagles (Both my favorites) playing this weekend We may be dealing with some snow during the Chiefs game. In all reality, I want to see the Chiefs play the Eagles this season in the Super Bowl because I believe that would be a great game to watch. The 49ers is going to be a tough hurdle for all the teams playing. So I am not sure if the Eagles will make it, but they have in the past. We will just have to wait and see. Go, Chiefs, and fly Eagles fly!

Here is Blue Springs Weather this evening. So we have been dealing with a wet day today for most of the day and into the evening. According to the Acurite Atlas, We are currently sitting at 34.7 degrees as of 7:28 pm this evening. The current pressure sits at 29.62 inches. Winds are South at 6 mph. Relative humidity at 96% and dew point at 36 degrees. According to the Accurite rain gauge, we received 0.6 inches of precipitation at this time. No lightning strikes were recorded.

Blue Springs Forecast reveals a couple of things. Snow and rain. We may be dealing with snow first thing in the morning at about 7 am, with heavy snow possible by 8 am. The WPC shows no accumulation, but it may be focused on mostly vegetation if it does accumulate. I cannot rule it completely out.

It looks like we will be dealing with some Snow starting at about 3 pm Saturday, according to the GFS. Keep in mind this weather forecast can change. According to GFS, snow amounts are sitting at about 1.7 inches. Don’t hold to that since this is the GFS and can over-emphasize things. I will have a better update

Nasty Precipitation. What is The ConditionsTomorrow?

What will be Blue Springs weather tomorrow? We will start a little wet, about 8 am; then we may see a little freezing rain. It should not be a hindrance. According to the WPC, there is a 20-30% chance of ice accumulations to about 0.01 inches or greater. The system then shifts to snow by about 1 pm, give or take. According to the WPC, there is no accumulation expected for snow. We will start at 32 degrees at about 7 am in the morning. The temperature will reach about 34 degrees, give or take, by 1 pm but then will begin to take a deep dive towards the evening hours.

Driving conditions should be okay for tomorrow. Just be careful driving, as there may be some slick spots. Bridges may be slick in spots too.

That is it for today; take care and be safe tomorrow. I will update you with Blue Springs Weather if anything should change. MP

Winter Snow Spring Temperatures

Good evening. Here I sit, checking out the weather to see when we will be out of this crazy Arctic freeze. I was encouraged to see that the last half of next week will be spring-like weather. We will talk about that here in a few moments. For now, let’s take a look at our current conditions.

Current Conditions

Tonight’s observation as of 9:27 pm shows the current temperature of 6 degrees with a pressure of 30.45 inches and steady. Likely some of you may be dealing with some pain. Winds are at 15 mph NNW and breezy. The relative humidity is 64%, with a dew point of -2 degrees. The air is very dry. In fact, the static is ridiculous in my home. The skies are clear.

[wunderground location=”Blue Springs, MO”]

We have a chance of snow on Monday at midnight. Snow amounts, according to GFS, may be up to 0.4 inches of accumulation

We will soon begin to thaw out finally. I am about tired of the snow and cold weather. We will begin to warm up on Wednesday with temps about 51 degrees. Thursday is the warmest, with the temperature in the week at 66 degrees, give or take by 3 pm. Winds should begin to die down over the next couple of hours.

That is about it for now. Take care. MP

BLUE SPRINGS WEATHER: December 20, 2022

Here is the latest Blue Springs weather update for Thursday into Friday. The wind will be here by Midnight Thursday morning. Wind Gusts will peak at 37 mph by 9 am. Snow drifting will be an issue in some areas. Temperatures will shift quickly to zero by 6 am. Temperatures will continue to drop and be below zero at -6 degrees by 10 am.

The Weather Prediction Center still shows up to a 40% chance for snow amounts 4 inches and the greater. I still think we will not get past 3 inches.

If you are traveling you are in the last few hours till the point of no return. Probably not a good idea to risk it at all. Snow amounts are still 2 inches guaranteed then up to another inch or so for a total of 3 inches and some change.

That is about it so far, till next time. MP.

Winter Weather Update – December 19 2022

Wow. I am going to have a lot to write about today. If this system holds out, we will see some significant snow amounts. Keep in mind this is STILL TOO EARLY! So as you read this PLEASE keep that in mind and don’t run out and yell the sky is falling! This is something that I am keeping an eye on throughout the week, and as always please make sure your poke your head in on other pages. I know I do a lot of poking with them and there are certain topics that I am dogmatic about, but they still do the best that they can with a much bigger area that they cover. I only cover one county, and that is why I am so accurate. So with that lets talk about some weather. Keep in mind all that I am about to write about is subject to change very quickly.

TEMPERATURES

Thursday temperatures is going be bitterly cold. On Thursday December 22nd at 3 am the temperatures for Jackson County will be about 33 degrees. By 6 am Thursday morning we will hit 9-10 degrees. By 6 pm on Thursday we will be at -2 degrees. By 6 am on Friday December 23rd we will be at -3. By 6 pm on Friday will be at 4 degrees. See the slide show below on the time line of temperatures.

WINDS

Notice the isobars (lines), those lines being close together means it will be windy. So from Wednesday night at 9 pm till about Christmas make sure you dress in layers. Please do not allow your kids to run around in shorts. Please parent your kids. If this holds out we will see snow drifts and likely very low visibility.

SNOW AMOUNTS

Snow amounts are still up in the air, but this what we have so far. NAM shows 3 inches of snow and RAP Shows about 2 inces of snow. GFS shows about both show about 3.7 inches of snow. ECWMF shows over 6 inches of snow. Then we have the WPC which is most of the time the most accurate. Hopefully it will change, but at this time the WPC says there is a 70-90% change of snow amounts of 4 inches and greater. When you shift to snow amounts based on percentile, there is a 95% chance that all of Jackson County will have 6-8 inches of snow.

So we will just have to wait and see as we move forward. If anything changes I will let you know. MP

Morning Observations / Forecast December 18 2022

Good morning. We have winter weather approaching us over the next 24 hours or so. Today’s observation as of 07:24 am shows the current temperature of 12 degrees with a pressure of 30.31 inches and steady. Winds are at zero. The relative humidity is 82%, with a dew point of 10 degrees. The air is arid. The skies are clear. I reported a trace of snow from the very light spitting of flurries yesterday with no accumulation.

Today’s Forecast is pretty uneventful. The temperature today will be a high of 37 degrees, give or take, by 3 pm. Winds will be calm today and less than ten miles per hour. Skies will clear up until about 4 pm and shift to overcast.

HRRR Temperature 3 pm.
Cloud Cover at 4 pm.

Here is an update on the winter weather approaching us this week. It looks like there may be two rounds of snow this week. The first round looks to arrive around 6 am for GFS, 7 am for RAP, and 9 am for NAM Monday, and it seems like straight snow with no transitions. Snow amounts show about a 50 percent chance of 1 inch or greater. Based on the WPC and the model’s accuracy, my determination is that it will be less than an inch unless something changes. The National Weather Service says 1 inch for the Blue Springs area. Some parts of Jackson County may see 1 inch of snow. The start time depends on which long-range model you look at. We will find a better accurate start time this evening as HRRR comes into view for tomorrow morning.

GFS 7 am Monday
RAP 8 am Monday
NAM 9 am Monday
WPC Snow Probabilities for Jackson County and Blue Springs area.

The temperature looks to reach about 38 degrees by 3 pm Monday. So there is a good chance that the snow will be mostly melted by the end of the day on Monday if it holds out. The GFS model shows a slightly lower temperature at 34 degrees. Again, we will get a better and more accurate reading this evening. Keep watching Facebook.

The forecast for today. We will reach about 31 degrees give or take by 2 pm today and will begin to drop by 4 pm today. By 3 am in the morning temperatures will increase to about 37 degrees as the cold front moves through the area and rain begins at this time.

HRRR Temperature at 2 pm CST
HRRR Temperature at 3 am CST

The precipitation starts out as rain but then by 6 am Monday morning rain will shift to snow.

HRRR Precipitation Type at 3 am
HRRR Precipitation Type shifting to snow by 6 am

As for accumulation, it looks to not be much according to the Weather Prediction Center. We have a 5-10% chance of snow amounts of one inch or greater by noon Monday.

WPC Snow Accumulation probabilities at 5-10% at One Inch or Greater

By 6 pm Monday evening the chances increase slightly to ten to twenty percent chance of snow amounts one inch or greater.

WPC Snow Accumulation probabilities at 10-20% at One Inch or Greater

That is pretty much it for today. Be careful driving Monday. Take care. MP

November 9th 2019 Forecast

Good morning Blue Springs! I pray that your evening was blessed. It is a crisp clear morning this morning. Skies are clear. No precipitation to report. This weekend maybe a good weekend to put up your Christmas lights. Do some yard work, or spend some time outside enjoying the beautiful fall colors. Come Monday temperatures will be a shocker. Highs will be in the low 30s. Dew point temperatures will be in the low single digits. So very dry. Time to break out the hand lotion, or the humidifier so we don’t all flake away. This is the time of the year that I can’t stand. My legs get so bad and dried out.

CURRENT CONDITIONS

Temperature is 36.6°. We had a high of 41.5 and a low of 18.5 over the past 24 hours. Barometric pressure is 1013( 29.91 inches) and falling. Relative humidity is 72%. Monday night, temperatures in the low teens. Chance of precipitation 2%. Dew point temperature in the low single digits. Skies will be clear.

MODEL DISCUSSION

Looking at models for this weekend oh, there is nothing going on. Monday however, is a different story. System should start moving in by about midnight Monday morning, then really transition into a snow by 6am. Snow amounts can be up to a tenth of an inch. In some areas of Jackson County you may not get anything at all. It just all depends on where the system lands. Should have a fairly accurate forecast within about 12 to 24 hours before. Temperatures will definitely be much colder indefinitely the coldest for the entire season.

Opening day of deer season on Saturday November 16th it will be wet. Looking at our state overall it looks to be pretty scattered. As far as Jackson County is concerned, we will be getting some rain that morning. Temperatures will be in the low 50s on Saturday. Sunday it will be in the upper 40s. Not sure if deer are going to be active that weekend or not. Hopefully those temperatures will drop a little more.

That is pretty much it for today, may your weekend be a blessing. Be careful this weekend if you are going to be in the yard or on the roof.

MODEL DISCUSSION

Looking at models our next chance of precipitation will be Monday evening November 4th approximately 10pm. The form of precipitation is just rain. The next round will be Wednesday November 6th at about 1am in the morning, with just rain. Another round of precipitation in the form of rain on Saturday November 9th at about 4pm.

A warm front will pass through Monday November 4th making temperatures in the upper 50s possibly into the 60s by 4pm. Another warm front on Monday November 11th. Temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s and it will continue into November 12th. Don’t bank on this as models change often.

Other than that this weekend should be pretty quiet. Halloween should be business as usual, just make sure you bundle up your kids.
